After months of building, we’re launching SweetMango today.
The idea is simple: you learn a language faster when you’re reading stories you actually care about — not drilling flashcards or filling in grammar blanks. SweetMango puts real stories first and gets out of your way.
What you can do right now
Open the app and start reading. No account required. Tap any word for an instant translation and pronunciation. Play the audio for a sentence and watch each word light up as it’s spoken. Hide the English translation to challenge yourself, or keep it visible while you find your footing.
Stories span six topics — everyday conversations, love and dating, travel, culture, folk tales, and tech — across levels from A1 (complete beginner) to B2 (upper intermediate). We’re starting with Spanish and Chinese, with more languages on the way.
Why stories
Most language apps teach you about a language. SweetMango drops you into one.
When you read a story, you’re not memorizing isolated words — you’re seeing them in context, repeated naturally across sentences, attached to characters and situations you remember. That’s how vocabulary sticks. That’s how intuition develops. You stop translating in your head and start reading.
We kept the sentences short and the interface minimal so nothing competes with the story itself. One sentence at a time. Your pace. Your flow.
